Color Field painting was an art movement evolved from Abstract  Expressionism during the years 1940s–1950s in New York. Its philosophical view point was to provoke the deeply indulged sensation by exploiting the imagination while submerging the mind in a never–ending reflection and recreation of thoughts. The distinctive style of Color Field painting is that, the arrangement of colors is the means to express painters’ emotion. The figuration and forms are not the intention of the artists. The artists believed that color by itself was the topic of emotion, therefore “color is freed from objective context and becomes the subject in itself”. Famous artists in Color Field painting are different in their individual style. For example, Barnett Newman (1905–1970), his works are referred to as deceptively simple, thus represent his intuitiveness.
